As Lady Gaga continues to put the finishing touches on her upcoming album, the pop singer gave fans a treat Thursday by releasing a country version of her hit song, ‘Born This Way.’

Gaga made the unexpected announcement via Twitter, writing, “Surprise Monsters!: ‘Born This Way’ (The Country Road Version) will be released on Twitter.

The original version of the song, which was released in February, was an immediate hit, though Gaga has come under fire for its similarities to Madonna’s 1989 hit ‘Express Yourself.’
